Measure it. Campground pedestals commonly sag to 108–114 V under load. Valid range 90–135 V.

50-amp service is two independent 120 V legs. Assign each appliance to the leg its breaker sits on: the leg that fills first is the one that trips, no matter how much room the other leg has. Check your panel to confirm which circuits land on which leg.

Assumptions and limits
  • 30-amp service is a single 120 V leg: 30 A × measured volts.
  • 50-amp service is two independent 120 V legs at 50 A each. The result is governed by the worst-loaded leg, not the combined total, because each leg has its own breaker. Leg assignment here is what you tell it; verify against your distribution panel.
  • Running watts only. Air conditioner and compressor startup surge is not included and can be several times running draw.
  • Continuous load above 80% of service capacity is where sag and nuisance trips appear.
  • Appliance nameplate wattage is a maximum, not a constant draw.
